Racing back to Eyton-On-Severn
After a forced hiatus of almost three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, finally, point-to-point horse racing returned to the course at Eyton-On-Severn in Shropshire. Undoubtedly one of the best days out in Shropshire, these meetings have been missed.
Eyton Racecourse welcomed horse racing enthusiasts back with open arms on Easter Monday, and what a day it was! The weather was perfect for spectators - bar the unavoidable British shower during the last race…but the course did possibly benefit from a little rain for the going to ease.
The picturesque bank was packed for the days’ racing and the thirst to see the return was evident amongst the crowd. There was the usual seven race card with some top-quality action, the display of the hounds for the younger horse racing fans, and a delightful array of stores.
For Moogies, it was the first time we were able to use a drone to capture some of the scenes too, making for some spectacular shots which can be seen at our Horse Racing Fans TV page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/horseracingfanstv. You can also take a look at our album from Chaddesley Corbett on Easter Saturday, which again saw record crowds of people enjoying picnics in the sun.
With the May day bank holiday meeting at Eyton just a few days away (Monday 2nd May), the course is in wonderful condition and a sight to behold. For a day out with plenty to entertain everyone and their dog, it really shouldn’t be missed!
