Moogies Media are celebrating after having their Operational Authorisation renewed for the next 12 months by the Civil Aviation Authority. Previously known as Permission for Commercial Operations (PFCO) this now enables us to carry out commercial work and has ensured all of our operations manual and flight records are up to date.

There is no doubt that the world of drones is making a bigger impact than ever before and during the current Coronavirus crisis, they have been used to benefit communities all over the world but flying within regulations must always be the order of the day, after all, we are in charge of an aircraft. There is no bigger relief that when what we are practicing every day for the previous year is recognised by those in charge of our skies and ensure air laws are being adhered to.

Ever since we achieved the required standards to be commercial drone pilots, we have almost always had business restrictions in place in general, indeed as soon as we completed the application and exam process in 2020, we were in lockdown within 2 weeks. We perhaps could have flown, but sometimes what we do has more impact morally that legally and to ensure the countries laws were adhered to without arguments, we decided to down our aircrafts. In between lockdowns we have flown as much as possible, but of course, we then have than had to consider weather conditions during the winter months, but from April 12th, we really can look forward to many flying days in the summer sun.

As always, at this time of year, we thank our flying school, FlyBy Technology, for all their help and the personal mentors within that organisation too, this year will undoubtedly be the year the industry moves forward at a pace with so much to look forward to and we know with FlyBy, we are kept up to date with all changes and our manuals always hold the correct required information, especially as they are leading the way with BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) courses too in the UK. In addition, we have a huge announcement to come from DJI too with rumoured new technology being launched, we firmly believe once all the above is evaluated that we are at the right place at the right time in this progressive, vital industry.

So, as we do all our pre-flight checks, ensure the camera is ready to go and memory cards are formatted over the next few weeks, we can’t wait to see the world again from the skies through spectacular imagery and videos, it really does make the world a fascinating place and ensures your media has a stunning look that will attract the clients you are looking for.

Stay safe to you all.
